HHIP
(Hillside Homeownership Initiative Program)

The Hillside Homeownership Initiative Program is an employer-assisted homeownership partnership between NHS Duluth, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and Duluth employers.  The program will increase the rate of homeownership in the Central Hillside, East Hillside, and Endion neighborhoods by providing down payment and closing cost assistance.

Specifics of the HHIP include:
    $2,000 Down Payment / Closing Cost Assistance*
    Forgivable grants
    No Income Guidelines!
    The homes must be the purchaser's primary residence.
 
Participating employers include:
            Miller-Dwan Hospital
            St. Luke's Hospital and Regional Trauma Center
            Members of the Greater Downtown Counsel
            Members of The Hillside Business Association
 

SMDC Employees are eligible for the HHIP in an expanded area to include
            West Duluth
            Lincoln Park
            Central Hillside
            East Hillside
            Endion         

GMHF GRANT

   An additional $2,000 in matching funds may be provided by the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund for income-qualified purchasers.
 

*Program participants are required to complete the Home Buyer Education Program & one-on-one Counseling Session.
